Many users open Incognito or Private Browsing mode thinking they are completely invisible. While Incognito mode prevents your local device from saving search history and cookies, it does not hide your identity from advanced online tracking networks.
Tracking via IP and Fingerprinting
Ad networks don't just rely on cookies. When you visit a page in Incognito mode, they look at your public IP address, your internet service provider, and your browser fingerprint (screen resolution, system fonts, and browser extensions). By linking this unique fingerprint to your standard browsing footprint, they identify exactly who you are.
The Hashed Login Trap
If you log into any account (like Google, Amazon, or a news site) while in Incognito mode, the tracking loops are connected instantly. The site converts your email address into a unique cryptographic hash and links all your private browsing habits to your permanent profile, rendering Incognito mode useless for ad tracking.
